Conrad Sidego is sympathetic to the individuals boycotting the twentieth year celebration of the South African Republic, because of the political insensitivity towards a majority of South Africans who do not have citizenship in their own country. However, he does strongly request the youth to practice self-discipline during these demonstrations as the recorded causalities at school unrests are long enough.

Nation-wide protests and boycotts against the twentieth-anniversary celebration of South Africa becoming a republic. This resulted in mass detentions and banning whilst the First Minister prepares for the massive military parade in Durban the next day on the twentieth anniversary of the South African Republic.
